Life with Rohan

Dragon Eyes

After Rohan had seen a photo of himself with flash induced red-eye, he started pestering me as to why his eyes were only red in photos.

So I told him it was because he was a dragon, and that his eyes were full of fire :-)

From that point onwards instead of saying cheese he would only roar and make dragon noises. As you can see...

WHAT?

Rohan has discovered my ear defenders. He likes to wear them while riding his bike, for some reason. I'm not sure the look will catch on.

What made me crack up was when he tried to convince a local cat to come to him. I'm not sure if it was the odd looking ears or the fact that Ro was saying "here puss puss" at about twice the normal volume due to the ear defenders... Either way the cat legged it. Wise cat :-)

Am I good boy now Mummy?

Rohan is learning that boundaries are there to be tested.

And he is also learning that being cute can help mitigate the effects of pushing aforementioned boundaries.

It's wonderful to see him use problem solving skills and developing his own personality, but sometimes it can drive you up the wall too :-) Here is a perfect example of the "I'm too cute to reprimand " look...

Summer fun

I remember when life was this fun, when everything was a new adventure :-) Getting to live these moments again, through Rohan, is one of the best things about having children.

I think you forgot Rohan and picked up this strange looking Spider Boy instead!

Looks like someone had a good day at school again :-)

Another busy day at school then?

Even with the roof of Grandad's car down Ro couldn't resist dozing off :-)

The only problem now is waking him up again without him getting in a grump. Oh well, here goes...

The view from the bedroom :) Testing the new tent out before we head off for real. The new tent is HUGE! This photo doesn't show it very well but we've now got two bedrooms, two living rooms and a galley area to store all the gear. And it only takes 45 mins to put up!

Eh?? So for one deodorant it costs $4.49 but if you buy two then you get them at the discount price of $10.00! Wow, that's a good deal... ;-)

30 years new

Whilst clearing out the house ready to move, I found some of my old Lego. After ten minutes of reminiscing I had a cool rocket propelled space rover :-)

As you can see, Rohan was pretty taken with the space rover too. That Lego is at least 30 years old and it's still just as good as the day it was bought.

I wonder what Rohan's kids will make of it?
